The California Delta needs our help. Due to the drought this year, the water hyacinth infestation that is happening on the Delta has gotten bad. Really bad. So bad, that the pictures below show how marinas have been shut down due to the hyacinth overgrowth blocking all boater traffic.
So, what can you do to help? The California Division of Boating and Waterways has setup ways for the public to inform them of infestation. You can contact them on their website or by calling 1-888-326-2822.
This is a very serious problem and as fishermen, we can help by taking pictures and contacting the California Division of Boating and Waterways. The more that they hear from us, the better our treasured Delta waterways will be for boating and fishing.
